11 January 2010
Long-term diversion to routes 727 & 729

Ireland Bridge in Bingley will be undergoing major maintenance work, which starts on 11 January 2010 and will last until the end of June.

Buses on routes 727 & 729 won’t be able to serve the usual route between Bingley and Harden, running instead via Cottingley Bar, Cottingley Road and Wilsden Road.

Buses towards Cullingworth will serve the stop at Bingley Rail Station then run non-stop to Wilsden, Ling Bob.

Buses towards Keighley will serve the stop at Wilsden, Ling Bob then run non-stop to Bingley, Ferncliffe Road.

Stops at the Brown Cow, St Ives, Harden Grange Farm, Cuckoo Nest and Narrow Lane won’t be served by routes 727 & 729 whilst the bridge is closed. Metro will provide a free shuttle bus between St Ives temporary car park and Ireland Bridge, as the bridge will remain open for use by pedestrians only.
Further information on this shuttle bus is available from Metro.

The temporary timetable for buses on routes 727 & 729 is as close as possible to that normally provided, but times at some stops have changed by a few minutes, with buses running a little earlier or later than usual.

The closure will also affect school services 961, 970, 971 & 973.
